14 Junior High students
were able to participate in a stage combat workshop. They were able to
participate with professional actors and worked on the
following: "Bite My Thumb," This stage combat workshop focuses
on communication as it takes students through the steps of creating combat
choreography and producing believable and safe stage violence. The actors
that worked with the students challenged them to locate the violent scenes in
the play and walk through the steps they learned in the workshop.
In the afternoon, all the
6-12 students watched an amazing performance of “Romeo & Juliet”! They
greatly enjoyed the presentation and have a much better understanding about
dramatic technique and Shakespeare! Thanks so much to the Buckley Trust fund
and NE Arts’ Council for making this opportunity available to our students in
rural, remote NE!
