How I Turned Out

Rodney E. Christensen: Class of '67

September 26, 2008

The following biographical information was submitted by Rodney E. Christensen,
a 1967 graduate of Garden County High School.

After graduating from GCH in 1967 I moved to Denver to pursue an interest in electronics. After a couple of years of school I started at Western Electric as a Test Technician, testing telephone equipment. Western Electric became AT&T, and then Lucent Technologies before I retired 30 years later. I then worked at Flextronics International for two years as a Test Technician testing circuit boards. The last five years I have worked for Delphi Medical, testing circuit boards for a variety of medical and non-medical products.

I have been married to the same beautiful lady for 36 years. We have three children and six grandchildren. My wife, Arlene, is a Pharmacy Technician for Safeway.

Along the way I was a volunteer at the local fire department for 22 years, where I served as Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief and Board Member.   I also served for several years on the Board of Adjustments for the City of Dacono.

Thanks to teachers like Mr. Kirch in Shop and Drafting classes, Doreen Jensen in English class and a few others whose names I can no longer remember, and the love and guidance provided by my parents, I have had a pretty good life. I am proud of my family and our accomplishments and I look forward to many more years, God willing.
