The only first place finish for the team went to Kamry Kramer at the high jump. She cleared four feet, increasing her personal best by five inches this week. Working on her form still, she is a natural and will continue to make huge gains as she dials in her jumps to be more consistent.
The two eight graders on the team were able to pull in points for each event that they competed in for this meet. Overall the two girls placed sixth as team, beating Paxton.
Maddie Lake finished second in the long jump with a 12' 7 3/4" jump, which was 3 1/2 inches beyond her PR for this season. Sprinting the 200M dash, Maddie was also able to shave off a second from her time from last week scoring fifth place with a 32.25 time.  As she attmeped the 400M dash for the first time this season, Maddie placed sixth with a 1:13.72 finish, which was hundredths of a second behind the few places ahead of her. Scoring in three individual events, Kaylee Leach brought in points for her team with a fifth in the mile run, a fifth in the 195M hurdles, and a seventh in the 800M run. Mallory Zorn also scored points by earning fifth in the long jump, sixth in the discus, and eigth in the 800M run. Montana Duffield brought points to the team score with her sixth place shot put. She also threw the discus, but did not earn points with her placing. Josie Marquez and Keona Hill also competed. Josie ran the 400M dash and cleared the high jump for the first time this season. Keona Hill improved her distances with the shot and discus.
The next meet for the JH track will be in Chappel on Wednesday the 19th and the competition will again push the girls to improve. Come out and cheer them on or at least encourage them when you see them around town.
