Knowing that commitment and dedication, Governor Dave Heineman has proclaimed the week of January 26th through February 1st to be School Board Member Week in the state of Nebraska and urges all citizens to take due note of the observance.

Garden County Schools are led by President Randy Stanczyk, Vice-President Richard Paisley, Secretary Andrea Lake, Treasurer Mike Fischer, Board members Matt Ardissono and Kelly Reece currently lead Garden County Schools. These elected officials are visionary and dedicated to educational excellence, as well as working collaboratively to make the best use of our district’s resources.

These service-minded community members meet at a minimum once monthly for regular meetings (the second Monday of each month at the high school), as well as attend ongoing committee meetings to accomplish important work to develop/review policies, work to keep building/facilities updated and safe, update transportation means, review finance issues, and keep current about legislation that affects our rural, sparsely populated school district.

A recent annual retreat meeting was held to review progress made over the past year in the district, student performance data, and set new board goals for 2014. There is a survey link on the school’s webpage (gardencountyschools.org) to provide feedback for school improvement efforts to continue to move the district forward and maximize learning opportunities for all students. If you have suggestions, please take the time to answer the survey question! Your input is valued and support is greatly appreciated. A school district’s success depends on good communication and continually seeking to improve!

Thank you for your positive contributions to enhance our education in Garden County! Take the time to thank these six individuals who work for the good of our students.
