According to
the recent Volunteering and Civic Life in America Report, NE ranks in the top 5
in volunteerism among the 50 states and Washington, D.C.! In 2012, a half
million Nebraskans volunteered and donated over 50 million hours of service
worth $900 million of service contributed.
Garden County Schools are blessed
with a great many volunteers! The TeamMates’ mentoring program is comprised of
volunteer board members and mentors who give an hour week to make the life of a
child special! Booster Club members provide countless hours of time: making
food for bus trips, working at the annual hamburger feed, gathering donations
for the post prom party and staying up all night helping! GCE parent volunteers
plan holiday celebrations and spend time in classrooms! Junior high parents
work together to plan their special events. GCE has breakfast volunteers who
come to help supervise children at breakfast, greeting children and making them
feel special. Town team sports have volunteers to help coach and cheer them on
during their various sports throughout the year. Trap shooting is available to
our youth because of volunteers!
Volunteers do not look for accolades
or praise, they give from their hearts. We would like to say THANK YOU to all
our volunteers and let you know we sincerely appreciate ALL you do for our
students! We are so grateful to you all.
