Welcome to Garden County Schools

Our mission is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a diverse society.

We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make the site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community.

School News at a Glance

Garden County School Song
Cheer Cheer for Garden County High,
Wake up the echoes don't let them die.
Send our cheers both far and wide,
We've got the best players on our side.
We're never down, we never say die
Send our colors way up on high
As our loyal team goes marching
Onward to Victory!

If you are interested in doing the 5k or TeamMates' walk on Friday please tell Pam in the office. We need to know about our students, as well. You will need to specify if you want to do the 5k or the Teammates on the track (there is not time for both). If students decide they want to do either, they will participate the full distance or do the one hour walk time on the track for TeamMates.  Students with mentors need to let the office know if they want to participate with their mentor. The 5k and walk will begin at 2 PM (TeamMates on the track; 5k in the concession stand lobby).
We have a lot of staff gone on Friday, so it will make a big difference as to how we provide supervision and modify the schedule. It is a walk this year, no bikes, so that also will impact students' choice. There is a regular dismissal from GCE, unless parents are at the high school to sign out their child. Following the walks, there will be water and fruit as a refreshment.

Garden County 4-H Council and Livestock Committees are interested in offering some new programs to the youth in Garden County.  In order to collect some information on the need/desire of two programs (Shooting Sports and Catch-An-Animal), we are sending out surveys. Below you will find the link for a youth survey and an adult survey.  It is open to all community members with children ages 5-18 to take.  We ask that each parent and youth only take once. If you have any questions about the programs, please call the office at 308-772-3311

"If you plan for a year, plant a seed. If for ten years, plant a tree. If for a hundred years, teach the people. When you sow a seed once, you will reap a single harvest. When you teach the people, you will reap a hundred harvests." ~Kuan Chung  more
