tip __________________________________________
This week the Garden County Juniors got their second Off-the-Page lesson and learned about mountain man rendezvous. Students learned about the business side of rendezvous as well as the social side of the event. Students got the opportunity to get their hands on some genuine fur trade era trade goods, and do a little competing in rendezvous activities. It was a good lesson and reinforced to students the pack trains that went to rendezvous traveled right through our North Platte river valley.

On Friday, September 14th, all 8th graders were trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). According to the American Heart Association, "CPR, if administered immediately after cardiac arrest can double or triple a person's chance of survival. About 90 percent of people who experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest die." 8th Civics students are participating in activities throughout the year that encourages engagement with the community and to become more involved citizens.
