The Ag Communications team was made up of Diana Paisley, Kelsey Vincent, and Kendra Johnson. In this contest, they created a marketing plan to qualify for state.  Once there, they created various promotional tools for an even happening in Nebraska.  Diana Paisley was the writer and received 7thplace with a red. Kelsey Vincent was a designer and earned a red ribbon at 6th place. And Kendra Johnson was the electronic media specialist and received a white at 9th place. Overall, the team placed second receiving individual medals and plaque to hang in the ag room.

The Biotechnology team was made up of Diana Paisley, Alisha Heelan, Courtney Leach, and Elliot Epp. This was a pilot year for the contest and consisted of a team event and an individual equipment identification and written test.  Alisha Heelan finished 7th, Diana Paisley was 14th, and Courtney Leach was 17th. As a team they placed fourth, and they did very well.

Katherine MacIntosh and Makay Beck competed in the agriscience fair; they were in the Plant Science Division 4. They placed first in their division, and they will be advancing to nationals with small improvements to their experiment.

The Agriscience team consisted of David Young, Mikayla Wiant, Elliot Epp, and Theresa Barnhart. The team had to complete a career research project to make it to state.  Once there, they competed as a team in dissecting a fish and individually answering questions about the fish dissection.   Last but not least, Alisha Heelan was selected out of hundreds of applicants to participate in the FFA Honor Choir.  She preformed each night at the main session in front of thousands of members and guests.

“This year’s competitors did a fantastic job.  I am extremely pleased with their efforts and successes,” commented Mrs. Paisley.  “I had many comments on how well behaved and professional our students acted during and even in between contests and sessions.  Thank you for such a great year at state!”  A special thank you to Lisa Sikes for helping sponsor.  The donation of your time was greatly appreciated!
