The Board of Education of Garden County Public Schools will meet in regular session on July 13, 2015 at 11:45 am at Garden County High School in the Board Room (200 W. 4th, Oshkosh, NE).  The meeting will include the holding of a public hearing to discuss, consider and receive input on the student fees, parental involvement, bullying, wellness and attendance policies.  An agenda for the meeting and public hearings, which shall be kept continually current, is readily available for public inspection at the Superintendent's office during normal business hours.

VOA-WN Seeking a Home Visitor for Sixpence Early Learning Program:
This is a 12 month position providing home visits to children birth to age 3 (travel within Garden and Deuel counties required). Candidate will plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities that encourage and stimulate child's development and foster positive parent interactions. Bachelor's degree required (in Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Social Work, or a related field). If interested, please contact Rachel Sissel at Volunteers of America-WN (308-778-5548). Garden County Public Schools receives early childhood education grant from Sixpence Early Learning Fund

The Trustees of the Sixpence Early Learning Fund announced last week that Garden County Public Schools will receive grant awards totaling approximately $100,000, beginning July 1, 2015. Sixpence awarded grants to sixteen communities to fund high-quality early childhood programs serving at-risk infants and toddlers across the state.  more

Who: The Garden County Coordinated Health Council extends an open invitation to folks of all ages to get moving! What: A FREE noncompetitive 5K run/walk/stroll/bike event! Summer Safety

Garden County Elementary's last day in session was spent learning about railroad safety from Union Pacific's safety professional, Railroad Bob; EMT responsibilities from local EMTs, Poison safety from Nurse Nicole (Regional West Garden County), and general summer safety, including bicycle safety, provided by the Garden County Sheriff's department! Thank you to all these folks for taking the time to help us learn more about how to be more safe and informed! Special thanks go out to the GC Hospital Foundation for the emergency number magnets!!!  more
